Vehicle extrication is the process of removing the vehicle from around a person that has been involved in a motor vehicle accident, when conventional means of exit are impossible or unadvisable. A delicate approach is needed to minimize injury to the victim during the extrication. This operation is typically accomplished by utilizing chocks and bracing for stabilization and hydraulic tools, including the Jaws of Life. Standards and regulations can be found in NFPA 1670 and 1006. From Wikipedia under the

Q. My fire department is looking to teach a "hands on" vehicle extrication(cutting up and tearing apart) course; however, we can't seem to get anyone vehicles donated to us. In the past it was easy to come across, but nowadays they want to charge an arm and a leg for a wrecked piece of junk for us to train on in order to hopefully be able to save them on one day! All in all, our department is located in SouthWest Louisiana (Lake Charles, LA to be exact). If anyone knows where we could come across some vehicles that had: windshields intact, doors intact, and roofs intact (we could use more than 1 vehicle and we dont need everyone of these criteria on all the vehicles)?
